Classroom Procedures:
- Students walk into the classroom quietly and sit in
their assigned seats.
- Students raise their hands to speak.
- Students treat the teacher, other students, and property
with respect.
- Students listen to and follow instructions.
- STudents participate in classroom activities.
- Students do their best in class.
3rd - 5th grade students have jobs to do for each class period. Each student will do the rotating jobs.
Classroom Behavior
students will follow PAWS Laws and use the appropriate voice level in the halls and classroom
students will follow classroom procedures.
Students may not endanger another person's safety or the learning of themselves, another person, or the class.
unkind words and actions will not be tolerated.
students will receive a recovery time when they are interfering with the learning of others through their behavior. Recovery time can be another seat in the music classroom, in another classroom, or with the counselor or assistant principal.
I will communicate with parents when there is a problem which involves their child interfering with the learning of others, or if their child is being unkind to another child.
Student of the Month
I will select a music student of the month who exemplifies:
kindness
thoughtfulness
giving
Teamwork
Respectful
responsible
caring
fair
leadership
trustworthy
Students who receive the award, will be able to choose a prize from the treasure box and receive a certificate.
There will be a "Student of the week" selected for:
Exhibiting the above characteristics.
The chosen students will be rewarded by being able to choose a classroom privilege for the following class period.
- Sit in the leather chair for the class period.
- play music games for 20 minutes on the ipad or computer
- Sit by a friend or choose an instrument to play in class
