Being raised in a military family allowed me the opportunity to move around and live in different states while growing up. After my college education, I taught music in New Jersey, and Michigan.
I consider myself lucky to be able to teach music at Spalding. It is wonderful working with such a dedicated staff, supportive admin team, and Spalding families. When the students and I discuss careers they always ask me why I became a music teacher. I tell them that when I was four an adult asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I answered "I want to be a singer." I get to sing each day with the students, and I love it. One of my favorite comments was from a kindergarten student, "Ms. B. you have the best job! It looks like fun!" I do and it is.
My spare time is spent with my family & friends, travelling, reading, hiking, yoga, cooking, and trying new activities. This summer I discovered how much fun a paddle board is!
